ZF in Graz

After successful pilot and pre-series applications, 10 trams of Graz Linien were equipped with ZF's intelligent Infrastructure and Driveline Monitoring System. Thanks to the ZF technology, vehicle availability in inner-city traffic in Austria's second-biggest city can be planned more efficiently as well as a reliable and low-emission operation is ensured.

In a next step, another 10 vehicles will be equipped with the connect@rail system.

Since December 2020, a tram in ZF design draws attention to the technological and innovative upgrade of the rail vehicles in Graz.

Graz Linien currently focuses on so-called flat spots – uneven wear on the steel tires of the vehicles. The wheel no longer rolls gently over the rail, you can usually hear and feel blows and rumbling while the train is in motion. Thus, passengers and residents alike suffer from noise nuisance.
