True success comes from collaborating with the open source community. Such collaboration is one of the four cornerstones of ZF's open source strategy.
As a central point of contact and an integral part of the ZF development process, OSPO is responsible for the following core areas:
OSPO acts as a ZF-internal consultant to make open source use legally compliant and adheres to the ISO 5230 standard. In addition to consultation on the use of open source software, license analyses, audits, vulnerability reporting and training, this also includes the development and maintenance of a governance system.
OSPO develops strategies and processes, leveraging methods and tools to maximize the benefits of open source at ZF.
We engage with the international open source community and are building an internal group of active users who participate in working groups and open source projects, and network with other experts.
OSPO supports employees in their efforts to advance and improve open source software through lean processes, guidelines and training.
ZF is already successfully utilizing open source. Its use is an integral part of the Group's digitalization strategy. Participation in the open source community aligns with ZF's partnership-based and innovation-friendly corporate culture.
