Technical Information
The powershift transmission is based on the second generation of the successful EcoLife 2 bus transmission and has been adapted for railway traffic. The transmission is custom-tailored for Diesel Multiple Units with a net engine output torque of up to 2,500 Newton meter. The torque converter ensures smooth starting processes and optimal acceleration values. The six mechanical gears keep the engine in an economical speed range. The integrated retarder considerably reduces wear in the mechanical brake system. System safety is ensured by the “Failsafe Principle”.

Repowering
