In the case of diesel multiple units (DMU), fuel costs alone account for more than two thirds of the total lifecycle costs of the vehicles. ZF’s repowering solutions aim at reducing fuel consumption and thus lifecycle costs as well as at extending the service life of the rail vehicles. In the repowering process, outdated driveline technology is replaced by modern, efficiently working driveline components.
