Performance with lower fuel consumption for Diesel Multiple Units

The driveline and chassis systems for DMUs are powerful and cost-effective. ZF’s driveline components offer increased ride comfort and safety with reduced fuel consumption. These are suitable for low-speed and high-speed rail vehicles. ZF dampers for their part ensure stable operation of the chassis. This reduces maintenance costs caused by wear, both for the vehicle and for the track.

ZF's EcoWorld six-speed transmission system by ZF is installed into MTU PowerPacks. For a Repower project, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail has retrofitted a diesel-powered InterCity Class 22000 train.
