ZF’s Intelligent Braking Platform (IBP) uses cutting edge technology to make the trailer intelligent and to increase the braking performance. A modular concept allows for a variety of further safety and efficiency functions that can be better tailored to specific needs leveraging more than 35 years of experience of trailer brake control. ZF’s IBP is the industry’s first global braking platform for trailers, combining iABS (intelligent Anti-Lock Braking System) and iEBS (intelligent Electronic Braking System) on three different performance and value levels – from basic to standard up to premium.

ZF`s trailer electrification technology helps to make driving more efficient for all heavy trucks – no matter which type of powertrain they use. Diesel trucks can be transformed into hybrid vehicles; electric trucks (whether battery- or fuel cell-powered) can be given an additional drive. This unique solution can be made possible by integrating ZF´s AxTrax 2 electric axle plus a battery system box with battery modules and battery management in the trailer.

Christopher Rimmele takes over as Head of Communications at ZF's Commercial Vehicle Solutions division

Effective May 1, 2025, Christopher Rimmele will become the new Head of Communications at ZF's Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division. In this function, he will report directly to Prof. Dr. Peter Laier, whose responsibilities on the ZF Board of Management include the commercial vehicle business. Rimmele, who previously headed the Communications function at ZF LIFETEC, will take over his new area of responsibility from Florian Laudan, who had continued to manage Commercial Vehicle Communications since becoming Head of ZF Group Communications in July 2024.

Friedrichshafen, Germany. ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division unveils its latest electrification technology, a new and advanced air compressor for commercial vehicles. Designed as much for efficiency as it is for smooth operation, the e-comp Scroll is an oil-free, low-noise and minimal vibration air compression system for medium and heavy-duty hybrid, battery electric and fuel cell trucks, buses and coaches. The new product has its public premiere at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in California, USA, and at the Auto Shanghai in China.
