Overview
ZF has the ability to process complaints with suppliers in a quick and transparent way through use of an electronic interface. The ZF Group solution for this activity is the SupplyOn Problem Solver module (sometimes referred to as e-8D). Problems and errors can be analyzed together using the 8D method, and solutions found to avoid repeat errors.
The 8D method is a standardized problem solution process that consists of eight steps (8D = 8 disciplines). Following the eight steps helps to identify the real root cause of the problem and to resolve it permanently. It supports methods such as 5-Why, Ishikawa and Drill-deep-and-wide.
Benefits
Use of the SupplyOn Problem Solver provides both ZF and suppliers with a number of benefits...
- Transparency to issues and action items
- Structured and clear data that can be analyzed
