In addition to the broad portfolio of hybrid transmissions ZF supplies complete systems with electric motors, flexible couplings, electric pumps, inverters and electric control systems. Technical Information
The advantages of hybrid maritime drives are obvious: no fuel is consumed during electric operation. This leads to zero local emissions and minimal noise. Compared to the marine diesel, this not only saves money, but also protects the environment. Therefore, many shipyards want a compact complete hybrid system from a single source. ZF accommodates this wish and provide standardized overall solutions covering an electric power range from 150 to 750 kW. The customer gets hybrid transmissions, electric motors, flexible couplings, electric pumps, inverters and electric control systems from a single source, which increases reliability, efficiency and quality. Ship owners and operators can rely on an extended life cycle and reduced maintenance costs with propulsion solutions from ZF. When maintenance or service is required, only one person needs to be contacted, which saves time and simplifies processing.

Hybrid transmissions
The portfolio of hybrid transmissions covers a power range from approximately 600 kW (ZF 33X0 series) to a maximum of 11,500 kW (ZF 83700). Both manufacturers and operators benefit from the robust design, the highest degree of reliability and flexibility for customer-oriented installations. All hybrid transmissions are equipped with an additional power take-in (PTI), via which an electric motor alone or in conjunction with the conventional power unit drives the propeller shaft.

The hybrid transmissions can be combined with electric motors and converters between 150 kWe and 750 kWe. The combination of these two innovative technologies in one propulsion system guarantees perfect interaction and optimum power delivery.

Tunnel thruster
Available in a range of 95 until 2,500 kW for all kind of vessels, for auxiliary use as well as for essential use for more demanding applications such as dynamic positioning.
