eConnect is a flexible solution for vehicles with two electrically driven axles. The system allows the secondary axle to be decoupled to save energy as long as its drive power is not required. This reduces mechanical drag losses by up to 90 percent. If necessary, eConnect switches on the second drive within milliseconds. eConnect reduces energy consumption and increases the range by five to ten percent, depending on the overall vehicle load.
