More Flexibility

The 8HP evo 8-speed automatic transmission is designed for 48 V mild hybrid and 400 V plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as for 400 V full hybrids. With the same battery capacity, it increases driving range by up to 10 percent compared with its predecessor. Its reduced use of rare earth materials contributes to cost efficiency and sustainability. The 8HP evo delivers an extended electric driving range thanks to its e-motor with an output of up to 200 kW and enhanced power electronics.

It is the heart of every BEV: the electric drive. ZFs eDrive Platform SELECT perfectly combines versatility, power, and efficiency for all vehicle types and requirements. SELECT includes all the building blocks required for an electric drivetrain – available either as individual components or as a complete system: e-motors, power electronics, reduction gearboxes, and software. The platform also provides full torque and power scalability.

With its electric Range Extender (eRE) for 400 V and 800 V systems, ZF has intelligently evolved the range-extender concept into a modular system. In the eRE+ configuration, the generator can optionally serve as a switchable drive for the secondary axle. This enables features such as on-demand all-wheel drive and an additional power boost for overtaking maneuvers.

With its TherMaS thermal management system, ZF has reimagined this key building block for electric vehicles. The system’s simplified design and compact packaging create new opportunities for vehicle integration. The system uses non-toxic propane as its refrigerant. Compared with leading systems currently on the market, TherMaS can increase the range of equipped electric vehicles by up to ten percent.
