ZF's 4-in-1 range extender system eRE+ is a variable and scalable power generating unit with a dedicated designed e-motor plus inverter, smart gearbox and actuator, optionally supplemented by an intelligent transmission unit with actuator. Coupled to a combustion engine, the system provides up to 90 kW DC to charge the battery for the electric drive while driving. Depending on the powertrain configuration, the system can also work as auxiliary drive system, providing 150 kW driving power.
