Two-Stage, Axle-Mounted Spur Gear Drive
Transmissions for rail vehicles with electric drives
Key Facts
High rotation speedFor high input speeds of more than 6,000 rpmLightweightLow weight thanks to aluminum housingFree bearing settingNo bearing clearance setting due to double helical gearing
The transmission is intended to transfer the drive power in rail vehicles, in which every driving axle of a bogie is powered by a separate transverse electric motor. It is designed as a two-stage, axle-mounted spur gear drive.

Technical Information
The motor is suspended separately in the bogie. Motor and transmission are connected by means of a tooth coupling which balances out the relative motion in all directions between the motor and the transmission. The forces from the transmission's reaction torque are transferred to the bogie via a torque support.
