A Century on Track
2024 marks the centenary of ZF's entry into the rail vehicle market: ZF first developed a drive system for railcars in 1924. At the time, it was the adaptation of a technology that had primarily been developed for passenger cars, the “Sodengetriebe TS18.5”. In the decades that followed, the company continued to expand its position as a supplier of rail technology. This was achieved through expansions and acquisitions as well as a strong international presence. Today, ZF is active with an impressive portfolio for many manufacturers and operators of rail vehicles around the world and is also characterized by an attractive digital offering.
