ZF offers the complete hybrid driveline from a single source. In addition to the broad portfolio of hybrid transmissions ZF supplies complete systems with electric motors, flexible couplings, electric pumps, inverters and electric control systems. Customers benefit from the professional expertise of ZF and can rely on hybrid drive systems, whose components are already perfectly harmonized with each other. The system is configurable to various application in the appropriate power range.

Technical information
Hybrid drives can offer clear benefits, especially in pure electric operation. In this operating mode, the drive does not consume diesel or a comparable fuel, but uses electrical energy instead. At the point of use, the drive produces no direct exhaust emissions. At the same time, electric operation can reduce noise compared with diesel operation (depending on the vessel configuration, installation and operating conditions). With compact, integrated hybrid solutions from a single source, ZF supports shipyards, vessel owners and operators in implementing modern drive concepts. The standardized complete solutions cover electric power ranges from 150 to 750 kW and combine depending on the system configuration, hybrid transmissions, electric drives, flexible couplings, electric pumps, inverters and electric control units. The coordinated components support efficient integration, a consistent system design and service-friendly processes. Depending on the operating profile and maintenance concept, they can also support a long service life. And should a service case arise, a central point of contact is available. This facilitates coordination and simplifies the process.

Hybrid transmissions
The portfolio of hybrid transmissions covers a power range up to 12,000 kW (ZF 60000 series). Both manufacturers and operators benefit from the robust design, the highest degree of reliability and flexibility for customer-oriented installations. All hybrid transmissions are equipped with an additional power take-in (PTI), via which an electric motor alone or in conjunction with the conventional power unit drives the propeller shaft.

The hybrid transmissions can be combined with electric motors and converters between 150 kWe and 750 kWe. The combination of these two innovative technologies in one propulsion system guarantees perfect interaction and optimum power delivery.
