What can OnGuardMAX® provide?
Combining radar and camera sensors with an image processing module, OnGuardMAX is ZF's most advanced driver assistance system. It not only enables autonomous emergency braking but also supports a range of value-added driver assistance features. It supports OEMs in complying with the European General Safety Regulation (GSR), further enhancing vehicle safety and driver comfort while protecting vulnerable road users (VRUs) on the road.

Features & Capabilities
- Detects and tracks moving and stationary obstacles including vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles, helping to avoid or mitigate collisions
- Provides the field of view (FoV) up to 150 degrees and radar detection up to 220 meters for objects in the front of the vehicle
- Enables Lane Assist functions including Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Centering for safer highway driving
- Adjusts speed and maintains a preset following distance automatically, even in stop-and-go traffic on highways
- Can connect up to 6 additional Short Range Radar sensors, covering the detection area of up to 80 meters on either side of the vehicle
- Meets cybersecurity regulations UN ECE 155 without requiring additional gateway ECUs
- Ready to autonomously apply brakes during initial vehicle movement or nearside turns (MOIS and BSIS with automatic braking)
