CDC Active Noise Reduction

Less tire noise.
More cabin calm.

Road noise can make a long drive seem even longer. CDC anr by ZF helps reduce tire noise close to where it starts – using sensors, software and the existing damping system. Inside the cabin, people notice nothing more than a calmer, less tiring ride.

CDC Active Noise Reduction | End customer benefits

Helps quiet tire noise before it reaches the cabin

Uses the existing damping system and smart software, so the drive becomes quieter without the extra hardware

Makes long drives feel less tiring, especially on rough or noisy road surfaces

CDC Active Noise Reduction | OEM benefits

Semi-active damper technology that reduces tire-borne noise inside the cabin

CDCanr Active Noise Reduction is a new software function for CDC dampers that reduces in-vehicle tire noise directly at the damper valve and therefore close to the source. The noise is measured by the Smart Chassis Sensor, a counter-signal is calculated in the ECU, and then transmitted to the CDC valve, where a neutralizing oscillation is generated. This purely software-based function requires no additional noise-damping hardware in the vehicle.

Reduced tire cavity noise

Algorithm identifies disruptive frequency and generates effective counter-signal

CDC valve reduces noise vibration

Reduces chassis vibration to minimize noise transmission into the driver cabin

Software-driven noise reduction

Uses existing mechatronic actuator to lower external noise through software
