ZF Services [pro]Tech: for driveline and chassis

[pro]Tech for the car and CV garage network

Direct knowledge from specialists

ZF Aftermarket launched its [pro]Tech garage concept back in 2013, and today it’s a reflection of the role as a system provider for driveline and chassis technology in the aftermarket. It provides garages with all the information they need from a single source. Participants will benefit from the direct support of specialist and manufacturer’s know-how and expertise.

As vehicles become more technically advanced, keeping workshop technicians skill sets up-to-date can be a challenge without the vital sources of technical information needed for repairs. Obtaining required levels of detail has not been straightforward and independent garages still regularly turn away business that is effectively dealer-only. This is where garages joining the ZF Services [pro]Tech network can gain access to an exclusive information portal with application details, technical specifications and fitting instructions for the complete parts ranges from Sachs, and Lemförder brands.

Mechatronic Core Acceptance Criteria

ZF Aftermarket have produced a guide to returning Mechatronic Core Units.

It is vital that the units are returned in a condition allowing for remanufacture. The reason for this is that any failure of the returned core unit to reach the required criteria may result in the surcharge being non-refundable. Mechatronic units will be rejected if the unit has been tampered with by third parties, e.g the unit has been opened.

High quality standards of remanufacturing:

ZF Aftermarket focuses on efficient remanufacturing and offers a wide range of remanufactured clutches, steering components, and transmissions.

As machines operate under strenuous conditions for thousands of hours or drives thousands of Miles/km, their components begin to wear and ultimately need replacement. When this occurs, ZF Aftermarket is dedicated to offering genuine service parts and remanufacturing solutions.

With genuine ZF Aftermarket remanufactured components you can rest assured knowing that no short-cuts are taken that compromise integrity and performance.

The key to a quality remanufactured component:

Expertise – The foundation of our remanufacturing process, and one of our greatest assets, is our technicians. Our factory trained, highly experienced technicians oversee the entire remanufacturing process, exploring all options available to provide the best possible solution.

OE Approved Processes - Components are remanufactured under strict ZF guidelines and ISO9002 / TS 16949 protocols providing consistent quality. Lean driven processes reduce waste at all stages and the latest engineering updates are incorporated into all genuine ZF Aftermarket remanufactured components.

Optimized Workflow - A streamlined and consistent remanufacturing process reduces wasteful movements and non-value added activities.

Specialized Tooling - Proprietary tooling used in production along with custom made tools allow for a more efficient and defect free remanufacturing process, greatly reducing the chance of damage to vital parts.

Testing – Proper testing is critical to achieve optimal transmission operation and lifetime. Remanufactured transmissions are tested to the latest factory protocols on our state-of-the-art ZF manufactured test bench.

Chassis Safety Check

Chassis Safety Check

The chassis works hidden from view so that in many instances, damage can only be discovered in the automobile repair workshop.

ZF Aftermarket therefore recommends that workshops regularly carry out a chassis check on every vehicle.

Frictionless - Oil Change

Passenger Car transmission oil change

An automatic passenger car transmission from ZF consists of over 600 parts – and the right oil is of utmost importance to the transmission's service life.

ZF's automatic transmissions are filled with high-quality fully or partly synthetic ZF-LIFEGUARDFLUID. However, increased loads and stresses, fast and sporty driving or frequent trailer operation cause the oil to age prematurely.
