What Is VA/VE?

VA/VE is a structured approach used to analyze product designs, materials, and processes to identify opportunities for cost savings—without compromising functionality, safety, or quality. It’s a collaborative effort that strengthens our supply chain and enhances competitiveness.

We are specifically seeking cost reduction ideas. Examples include:

• Use of alternative materials with equivalent performance

• Simplification of part designs or manufacturing processes

• Optimization of packaging, logistics, or supplier locations

• Reduction of assembly time or inspection effort

• Standardization of components across platforms

Important:

Only ideas that result in clear and measurable cost savings will be considered.

To ensure focus, the following types of ideas are not eligible for submission:

• Quality improvements without cost impact

• New product features or design enhancements

• General process improvements not tied to cost reduction
