ZF Trainees are a group of young people taking part in the ZF Global Trainee Program. In the #traineeblog they give insights about the life as a ZF Trainee.
Hello everyone, we are two trainees of the 2017/18 batch, Simon and Marina, currently doing our second trainee project in Schweinfurt. Simon is the only Finance and Controlling trainee and Marina is one of our two trainees focusing on Materials Management. For those who don’t know Schweinfurt: it is one of the biggest locations of ZF worldwide – right in the center of Germany. There are two different plants separated by the river Main – plant north and plant south. Schweinfurt is not only the home of e-mobility (headquarters of Division E) but also home to business units of Division T, P, C as well as ZF Race Engineering and ZF Aftermarket.

I, Simon, am currently working in Division E shaping the future of e-mobility in the department Strategy, Business Development and M&A. What fascinates me the most is the broad overview I get of Division E, being close to the change of future mobility and playing an active part in changing that future with ZF’s technologies to get closer to our corporate goal: Vision ZERO. Before joining ZF, I studied Technically-oriented Business Administration at the University of Stuttgart which helps me in my current project to understand not only the business part but also the technical side of our products.
Whereas Simon is working on a strategic level, I, Marina, am closer to the products and dealing with operative production topics. Working in the Logistics Planning of Division T, I further improve the material supply processes in the production of pressure plates by minimizing shortages and process instabilities. My studies in Global Business Management in Augsburg and Management and Technology in Munich with a focus on Supply Chain Management equipped me with the necessary skills to carry out my tasks at ZF today. The ZF Global Trainee Program is a great opportunity for me to evaluate the fit of my theoretical interest and to find out how corporate reality really works. That gives me a taste of where I want to work after the Trainee Program.

To conclude, we really enjoy the project in Schweinfurt - from a professional and private perspective!
