ZF Trainees are a group of young people taking part in the ZF Global Trainee Program. In the #traineeblog they give insights about the life as a ZF Trainee.
as you say in northern Germany. I’m Markus and today it’s my turn to continue the process of short personal introductions. So here we go: I’m one of the Materials Management trainees of the current batch. With a background in Industrial Management and a strong interest for the automotive industry the ZF trainee program is a great opportunity for a career entry from my point of view. The decision to take this chance was furthermore supported by my interest to explore new locations and not to settle down just yet. Through this I consider not only the location but especially a certain type of job or department.

Originally I’m from the city Hanover which is one of the bigger cities in northern Germany. You may know Hanover due to its big exhibitions like Cebit, the industrial fair “Hannover Messe” and the IAA for utility vehicles. Besides that Hanover is also known for it’s relation to the automotive industry hosting the headquarters of the orange competition of ZF and being a big Volkswagen location. However, Hanover is not only an industrial city but also known for being the green city due to the biggest forest within a European city.
The picture shows the Hanover town hall and the lake Maschsee in front of it.
Right now however I’m based in Schweinfurt which is one of the biggest ZF locations and also leading the future developments within the company by hosting the new division for E-mobility. Before that I had the chance to get to know the heart of materials management by doing a project in Friedrichshafen. To work in the huge production facility in Saarbrucken for the production internship was also a great experience (see separate post). Now it’s already time to prepare for the project abroad starting in June. Of course we will keep you posted about that! See you next time! Markus
