Transmissions for rail vehicles with electric drives

The transmission is intended to transfer the drive power in rail vehicles, in which every driving axle of a bogie is powered by a separate transverse electric motor. It is designed as a two-stage, axle-mounted spur gear drive.

Advantages

  • Designed for high input speeds of more than 6,000 rpm
  • Low weight thanks to aluminum housing.
  • Lower noise levels
  • The rolling bearings on the axle have been designed as cylindrical roller bearings because of the double helical gearing which is free from axial forces; therefore, they require no bearing clearance setting.
