Shear Joint

Always at the right height

The shear joint is a support element incorporated on motorcycles with duolever chassis geometry. It transfers the steering forces to the wheel carriers without backlash and offsets the vertical movements. As the duolever chassis design disposes of the conventional dive fork, a wheel carrier with a joint connection in the center (screw-in joint) is the supporting element used for shock absorbing/damping.

Advantages

  • Improved directional stability at high speeds
  • Agile handling, precise steering, and stable braking behavior in every speed range
  • Lightweight design - lightweight aluminum forged structural part
  • Reduced number of processes involved and less material due to the integration of functions (joint in structural part)
  • Visible surface (cathodic e-coating)
  • Offsets vertical movements of front suspension
