World’s Largest Sportfishing Yacht Launches in Amsterdam
Project 406, the codename for Royal Huisman’s newest superyacht, is the world’s largest sportfishing yacht and features ZF 24000 series transmissions.
The record-setting sportsfishing yacht has reached its launching destination in Amsterdam after transportation from its shipyard in Vollenhove, the Netherlands. The all-aluminum vessel’s 171-foot/52-meter length accommodating six decks gives her the title of the world’s largest sportfishing yacht, with ZF 24000 series transmissions powering the all-aluminum construction.
Work on the ship began in December 2020 by more than 350 craftspeople.
According to the project’s press release, “Project 406 is designed for an experienced owner who is passionate about fishing. She is a unique vessel in so many respects … Her design is extremely distinctive, with a long bow and high bulwarks sweeping through a clear sheer to a low and uncluttered cockpit aft … Project 406 effortlessly blends the ultimate sports fishing experience with genuine superyacht scale, comfort and refinement.”
Project 406’s owner is an aficionado of large game fish and requested an atmosphere of luxury for relaxing and entertaining while not on the rod.
