Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive cruise control systems improve driving comfort and can help the driver maintain a safe following distance during highway driving

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) uses forward looking radar and/or camera to help detect a vehicle directly ahead in the lane and is designed to automatically adapt a vehicle’s speed and help maintain a safe distance from that vehicle when driving on a highway,

If the road ahead is clear the vehicle will travels at the speed selected by the driver. However, if the radar and/or camera detects an impeding vehicle, it can help maintain safe vehicle separation by signaling to systems that control the engine, transmission and / or electronically controlled braking system to enable the vehicle to match the speed of the vehicle ahead.

  • Adaptive cruise control helps automobile manufacturers meet consumer demand for the comfort features associated with driver assist systems.
  • More than 10 years of experience with production of ACC systems in both passenger car and commercial truck applications
  • Proven expertise in engine, transmission and braking system control
