Blind Spot Detection System
- Radar-based blind spot detection system that supports drivers merging into adjacent, passenger side lanes by checking them for clearance. The Advanced Driver Assistance System effectively addresses side collisions and helps to prevent or mitigate truck crashes. OnSide becomes an important tool for maximizing vehicle uptime, even in low visibility conditions.
- System activates and alerts drivers of moving vehicles in the blind spot at speeds of 15 mph and above
- Radar continuously detects a wide variety of stationary and moving objects in the vehicle's blind spot while the algorithm filters out the stationary objects to allow the system to warn the driver only of moving objects
- Provides a 160 degree field of view with reach of up to 33 feet rearwards
OnSideASSIST
Active Blind Spot Correction
- OnSideASSIST combines ZF's active steering technology, forward-looking camera and a side-mounted radar for active blind spot correction. The system constantly monitors the vehicle’s passenger-side blind spot and if necessary, provides an assistive torque to support the driver in avoiding side collisions - even in low visibility conditions.
