OnGuardACTIVE is an advanced driver assistance system that helps drivers mitigate or avoid rear end collisions. The system detects moving, stopped and stationary objects and provides visual, audible and haptic warnings. If necessary OnGuardACTIVE will apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate a forward collision

OnGuardACTIVE features adaptive cruise control where the system detects time to collision of the moving vehicle in front while in cruise. ZF’s OnGuardACTIVE is a radar-only active safety system provides Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Active Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). When a collision is imminent, OnGuardACTIVE alerts the driver with a dedicated warning sequence. If the driver still does not take corrective action, OnGuardACTIVE automatically reduces engine torque and applies the foundation brakes to help prevent or mitigate the impending rear-end collision. OnGuardACTIVE’s newer higher-deceleration capabilities allow for complete stops at higher speeds on stopped, stationary and moving objects.
