Multi-stage vibrational damping

Higher torques and stricter emission controls are leadingto an increasing excitation of the powertrain by rotational irregularities. At the same time, the demands are increasing for noise reduction and comfort as well as the protection of the transmission and vibration-sensitive vehicle components. If the torsional damper in the clutch disc is not sufficient to damp engine vibrations in critical engine speed ranges, the Dual Mass Flywheel ensures outstanding decoupling over the entire rpm range.
