This ZV was mostly focused on public speaking and giving feedback. And as such we had a three day workshop dedicated to these topics. Activities included prepared and impromptu speeches (which each trainee had to present to the group), components of an effective speech/presentation, and handling of criticism. Overall this was a very informative event, regardless of how much experience you have in the area of public speaking.
We also spent our final day of the ZF learning about lean principles and how to make manufacturing processes more efficient. To do this, we were involved in an assembly process making Lego® airplanes, and we kept altering the sequence of the assembly process to see how it affected the productivity and cycle time of the process. Overall, it was a very fun way to learn about these ever critical concepts.
Lastly, as with all ZV’s, it was a blast, and we all spent time laughing and sharing stories about our time since we had last seen each other. As such, through all of the training, laughing, and furthermore great Roggenbeuren food, it was a wonderful experience all around.
