School Projects in Africa and the Dominican Republic

The current appeal for funds promotes educational institutions in Africa and the Dominican Republic.

Many children live in the poorest regions of Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Dominica Republic who have no chance of education – and thus, have no hope for a better future. For this reason, the "ZF hilft." fundraising campaign backs a project that literally sets a precedent: The Opportunity International aid organization supports the local population, who sets up educational institutions in remote areas, by means of microfinance loans.

The successes speak for themselves: By today, 400 micro schools have been established in Ghana that are run like small businesses. In addition, there are 50 schools in Uganda, 15 in Rwanda, and a further 200 in the Dominican Republic. Thanks to the fact that the principals commit themselves to the project with heart and soul, the children do not only receive education but also a balanced diet. Moreover, micro schools are increasingly provided with vehicles in order to pick up children living in remote areas.
