Also the ZF divisions, the individual regions, or locations have initiated many projects that show clearly the Group's commitment in the area of social responsibility.
So at the headquarters, ZF donated in 2010 two million Euro to the construction of a new mother-and-child center at Friedrichshafen's hospital. Further examples are donations to day care centers for babies and children or an anti-violence project for teenagers.
The employees of the ZF location Passau showed their proactiveness in 2009. They donated almost EUR 50,000 to the Bavarian foundation for bone marrow donation "Stiftung Knochenmarkspende Bayern" and gave hope to patients suffering from leukemia. Furthermore, ZF employees offered themselves as donor as part of a large blood typing initiative.
At the lake Dümmer, ZF financially supports the trainees at fire departments and emergency medical services and, as a consequence, strengthens the willingness to spend one's time as a volunteer. Furthermore, individual projects are supported here that should increase road safety - especially for pre-school children.
Additionally, ZF contributes to the donation fund of the large scale industry in Schweinfurt and supports like this many different social projects of the city.
Local help and support offers are traditional characteristics of the extensive social activities of the ZF locations in North America. These refer to the sponsoring of scholarships as well as, for instance, to the financial support of rehabilitation measures for people suffering from burn injuries. Employees of other US locations collect money for the fight against multiple sclerosis or breast cancer or organize charity programs. After the disastrous tornado that devastated the south of the US in April 2011, the management and employees donated around US$ 100,000 for the victims.
