Students within the scholarship program will receive financial aid as well as personal and professional development trainings. The scholarship holders visit various ZF plants to become familiar with the locations, divisions, and products. The theoretical content of a degree program can thus be tested and applied in a practical manner.

Regular networking events with ZF representatives, as well as being supported by a mentor, are significant parts of the program.

Support for bachelor's students can be provided at the earliest from the 3rd semester; for master's students, during the entire course of study. Support is generally limited to two years per degree and cannot be claimed beyond the end of the regular period of study.

The scholarship program is directed toward current or previous interns at ZF Friedrichshafen AG who are not currently supported by other institutions. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a technical or business-related bachelor's or master's degree program for at least another two semesters. Mandatory requirements include “good” to “very good” academic standing, and recommendation from a supervisor. In addition, foreign language skills and extracurricular commitment are important. Relevant degree programs include electrical engineering, information technology, automotive engineering, industrial engineering, industrial engineering&management as well as economics.

Applications are accepted from April to July 15th every year. (At the earliest, scholarship support can begin October 1st.)

To apply, the following documents are needed: Motivation letter, CV, enrollment certification, list of grades, internship certificate, letter of recommendation from your tutor, as well as additional certificates and testimonials. The internship certificate can be submitted later.
