From Slovakia to China and Back: Driving Change and Collaboration
My career at ZF kicked off in 2001, right in Trnava, Slovakia. Fresh from my time in Switzerland, where I polished my German skills while caring for children, I delved into production purchasing. ZF quickly became more than just a workplace; it became the starting point of lifelong connections, including meeting my future husband.
New Horizons
When ZF opened a new greenfield plant in another Slovakian city, my husband and I eagerly joined the journey. I took on the role of purchasing materials for shock absorbers, diving into new challenges and opportunities.
Then in 2013 came an opportunity I would have never expected - to work in a place completely different from my homeland - in the Far East, and to be more specific - in China. ZF launched there a new production plant in Shenyang and offered a job for specialists who could help launching all operational functions. After considering pros and cons, the wind of adventure took us to move there as a whole family with our young daughter. It wasn’t easy but it was the most amazing experience in my life - to embrace the complexities of life and work in a totally different cultural setting.

Back Home
In 2015, as the project was about to be finalized, it was time to return to Slovakia, this time to lead a team focused on non-production related purchasing. Task of my Team was clear: streamline processes and increase automation. With experienced I gained so far, from system analysis to developing new applications, each day brought fresh opportunities to innovate and improve.
Daily Tasks and Challenges
Every day, I engage in a variety of tasks. These include analyzing data, setting up systems, testing new configurations, training buyers, creating applications using PowerApps, and generating reports. These tasks form the core of my work. When it comes to the most challenging aspect of my job, it is encouraging people to embrace change. Introducing new ways of working can be uncomfortable, as individuals tend to stick with what they know and feel comfortable doing. But for me personally, change is the air I breathe, and I firmly believe that it propels not only my personal growth but also drives the entire company forward. Change, in my view, is a force for progress.

Shaping the Future
To excel in my role, I rely on an open mind and strong communication skills. My passion for systems and processes also plays a crucial part. What excites me most about my role is the constant evolution. Every day presents a chance to make a difference and drive positive change. At ZF, teamwork is the cornerstone of our success, propelling us forward towards a brighter future.
My Path and Proud Moments
I decided to work at ZF because it’s a stable company with an exceptional team. My boss supports my growth and development. I appreciate the company’s commitment to maintaining a work-life balance, allowing me time for personal hobbies like reading, spending time with family, and traveling.
One of my proudest moments was collaborating with my boss on the ZF Way project in Slovakia. Initiatives like “Failure Friday” foster stronger connections among ZF employees, and I’m proud to be part of that.
Being a #FutureStarter
In just three words, my experience at ZF embodies passion, teamwork, and change. I see myself as a #FutureStarter, ready to embrace the exciting shifts ahead. Positive change aligns perfectly with ZF’s ongoing transformation, and I’m eager to be part of it.
My journey at ZF has been one of seizing opportunities, facing challenges head-on, and fostering growth – both personally and professionally. I'm proud of the journey so far and excited for the adventures that await, both for me and for ZF.
