Functional Safety Engineer

  • Supervise development of functionality with aspect functional safety according ISO26262 standard.

  • Perform and moderate analysis and reviews in the frame of functional safety process for functional and software development.

  • Identify, plan, establish, coordinate and monitor tasks and resources identified in safety process activities.

  • Preparation of Hazard and Risk analysis, Safety plan and Safety cases.

  • Develop and derive safety requirements as part of the overall system requirements.

  • Represent the topic Functional safety in direction to the customer and to the internal project groups.

  • Advise and assist the project manager and the team leader in implementing the requirements of the safety process.

  • Training of project members regarding methods of functional safety.

  • Perform continuous process improvement through analysis of lived processes.


  • University degree in electronics, cybernetics, informatics  or similar field.

  • Experience in the field of functional safety.

  • Experience in the application of standards ISO26262 or IEC61508.

  • Knowledge and experience in the field of software engineering and quality engineering.

  • Knowledge in review and moderation techniques Good language skills in English (written and spoken).
