WEC

WEC Rd8 - Toyota takes double title

The final round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was held at Brazil’s Interlagos Circuit where Toyota Racing, to whom ZF supplies driveline systems as a technical partner, secured the manufacturer’s title. This makes it a double title win for Toyota whose drivers, Anthony Davidson (UK) and Sébastien Buemi (SUI) had already secured the driver’s championship behind the wheel of their “TS040 Hybrid.”

WEC Rd6 - Toyota Takes Consecutive 1-2 Finish

Round 6 of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was held at China’s Shanghai International Circuit. The two “TS040 Hybrids” from Toyota Racing, of which ZF serves as a technical partner, followed on from the previous round, “The 6 Hours of Fuji”, with a second perfect 1-2 result to protect their position at the top of both the driver’s and manufacturer’s rankings.

WEC Rd5 - Toyota takes a 1-2 finish on home turf

Round 5 of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was held at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture where the Toyota “TS040 hybrids,” for which ZF serves as a technical partner, achieved a 1-2 finish.

WEC Rd4 - 1-2 finish for Audi. Toyota takes 3rd step on podium

Approximately 3 months after the 24 Hours of Le Mans held in France, the 4th round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was held in Austin, Texas USA. Coming out on top of the 6-hour race was car number (#) 2, the Audi “e-tron quattro.” This is the second consecutive victory for the driver trio of Marcel Fassler (SUI), Andre Lotterer (GER) and Benoit Treluyer (FRA). With the number #1 Audi of Lucas Di Grassi (BRA), Loic Duval (FRA) and Tom Kristensen (DEN) coming in 2nd, the ZF clutch and steering system equipped Audis achieved a 1-2 finish.

WEC Rd3 - Audi celebrates 13th victory at Le Mans

The 24-hour race at Le Mans (France) ended in an Audi one-two victory. In the WEC season’s pinnacle event, Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro triumphed in front of their team-mates Lucas di Grassi, Marc Gené and Tom Kristensen.

WEC Rd2 - ZF partner Toyota claims second victory of the season

Another perfect weekend for Toyota in the WEC. The Japanese constructor, whose Technical Partner ZF Friedrichshafen AG is this season, following its victory in the opening round at Silverstone, celebrated another victory in round two of the season at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Anthony Davidson, Nicolas Lapierre and Sébastien Buemi finished 1m 13.926s ahead the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro designated as car #1. The car of Lucas di Grassi, Loïc Duval and Tom Kristensen, like the victorious Toyota, is equipped with a clutch from ZF.

A perfect race weekend for Toyota in the WEC: The Japanese constructor, whose Technical Partner ZF Friedrichshafen AG is in this season, celebrated a one-two victory at Silverstone.

F1 Rd19 - Hamilton Shines as 2-Time World Champion

The final round of the F1 Grand Prix was held at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton took victory and became this season’s driver’s champion.

F1 Rd18 - Rosberg Wins. Final Race set to be Championship Battle.

The F1 Brazilian GP was held at Interlagos Circuit, located in the suburbs of Sao Paulo, where Mercedes’Nico Rosberg took victory. The title battle that he has been engaging in with his fellow Mercedes teammate will now be carried over into the final round, the Abu Dhabi GP.

F1 Rd17 - Hamilton Takes 10th Win Of Season

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton took victory at F1 round 17, the United States Grand Prix, held in Texas. This makes it his 5th straight victory since the Italian GP in September.

F1 Rd16 - Mercedes takes the constructor’s championship

At the first Russian GP held in Sochi, the venue for this year’s winter Olympics, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton (UK) took his 9th victory of the season. Teammate Nico Rosberg (GER) went on to grab 2nd, securing for Mercedes its first constructor’s championship crown.

F1 Rd14 - Alonso takes 4th in street circuit night race

Round 14 of the FIA Formula One World Championship was held in Singapore and Fernando Alonso (ESP) in the “Ferrari F14 T,” equipped with ZF shock absorbers, finished the race in 4th place. Lewis Hamilton (UK) started from pole position in the Mercedes and took victory to make this his second consecutive win, after the last round in Italy, which puts him at the top of the rankings.

F1 Rd10 - Alonso takes fifth place at Hockenheim

Fernando Alonso finished in fifth position in the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. The Spaniard, in whose Ferrari dampers from ZF Friedrichshafen AG are used, has scored points in all ten races so far this season. As a result of finishing fifth he defended his fourth place in the Drivers’ World Championship and secured Ferrari important points in the manufacturers’ classification.

WRC Rd13 - Volkswagen’s Ogier Finishes 2014 Season With 8th Win

At round 13 of the World Rally Championship (WRC), held in Wales, south-west United Kingdom, Volkswagen’s Sébastien Ogier (FRA), having already secured his second consecutive championship in the previous round, went on to take victory here as well. With this, the WRC 2014 has come to a close

WRC Rd12 - Volkswagen’s Ogier shines as champion for 2nd straight year.

The 12th round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) was held in the roads around Barcelona, Spain where Volkswagen’s Sebastien Ogier (FRA) grabbed victory. With teammate Jari-Matti Latvala (FIN), ranked 2nd in the series, finishing the rally in 2nd place, Ogier was able to secure his second consecutive WRC championship without waiting for the final round.

Seventh rally, seventh victory: In the 2014 World Rally Championship the Volkswagen Polo R WRC, which is equipped with dampers and a two-plate clutch of the ZF brand, remains unbeaten.

WRC Rd 3 - Volkswagen Takes 3rd Straight Win Of Season

Round 3 of the World Rally Championship (WRC) 2015 was held in Mexico. With temperatures reaching over 25°C and the track consisting of a gravel road surface, this rally was a completely different ball game compared to the first two rounds held in mid-winter Europe. The driver who managed to conquer this fundamentally different event was yet again Sebastien Ogier (FRA), behind the wheel of his ZF twin plate clutch and dampers equipped Volkswagen “Polo R WRC.” Taking the lead from the first day, the 2013-2014 champion pulled out a solid performance from beginning to end to maintain his position and achieve a 3-round winning streak, which began from the opening round in Monte Carlo. This is a significant victory for the “Polo R WRC” as it marks its 25th win in a total of 29 rounds that it has competed in since its WRC debut in 2013.

WRC Rd 2 - Second Straight Win for Volkswagen

Round 2 of the World Rally Championship (WRC) 2015 was held in snow blanketed Sweden where Sebastien Ogier (FRA), world champion for the last two years since 2013, took home victory. Having also taken a top finish in the opening round at Monte Carlo, Ogier has made a good start towards achieving 3 consecutive season start victories.

The 2015 season of the World Rally Championship (WRC) kicked off in Monte Carlo (Monaco) and 2013-2014 series champions, French duo Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia, took home victory.

Super GT Rd8 - The “MOTUL AUTECH GT-R” Takes Victory to Become a Turnaround Series Champion

“GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU Z4” finishes 3rd in GT300 to grab title

The final round of the SUPER GT 2014 was held at Twin Ring Motegi in Tochigi Prefecture. Starting from pole position, the #23 “MOTUL AUTECH GT-R” (Tsugio Matsuda / Ronnie Quintarelli) took victory without even once relinquishing the lead. This was their second win of the season and allowed them to achieve an overturn in the rankings to become series champion. In the GT300 class the #4 “GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU Z4” (Nobuteru Taniguchi / Tatsuya Kataoka) masterfully outdid other machines that struggled to lift their pace and protected it's 3rd place position to knock aside the equal ranked “GAINER DIXCEL SLS” (Katsuyuki Hiranaka / Bjorn Wirdheim) with a higher podium count to take home their first championship. more

NISSAN GT-R takes season first win in GT300 class

Round 7 of the SUPER GT 2014 was held at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit. In the GT500 class, the “PETRONAS TOM'S RC F” started from 12th place on the grid and through a shrewd strategy of not changing tires managed to snatch victory. Being his 2nd consecutive win following on from victory at the “SUZUKA 1000km,” James Rossiter (UK) is now sitting on the top of the drivers’ rankings. In the GT300 the “B-MAX NDDP GT-R” finished 1st in class to take their first win of the season.

Super GT Rd6 - “ZENT CERUMO RC F” takes pole to win victory in renowned race

BMW Z4 GT3 takes 3rd podium finish of the season in the GT500

This year the 43rd “International Suzuka 1000km” was held as round 6 of the SUPER GT 2014 at Suzuka Circuit, Mie Prefucture. The “PETRONAS TOM'S RC F” led the entire race with a consistent pace and successfully held out for the entire fiercely contested 6 hours. The GT300 class entered into a new phase with the JAF GT hybrids, such as the Honda CR-Z and TOYOTA PRIUS battling it out with the BMW Z4 GT3. After an intense fight the “TWS LM corsa BMW Z4” grabbed its first win of the season.

Super GT Rd5 - “Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT” overcomes a turbulent race to take victory

“Subaru BRX” completely dominates GT300 with lights-to-flag victory Round 5 of the SUPER GT 2014 was held at Fuji Speedway, Shizuoka Prefecture. This turbulent race, that saw several deployments of the safety car, was conquered by the “Weider Modulo NSX CONCEPT-GT.” Having implemented numerous improvements following very tough races in the first half of the season, Honda has taken its first victory of the season. In the GT300, the “SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT” began from its 2nd pole position of the season and pulled away from the competition to take a definitive victory.

Super GT Rd4 - 1-2 finish for the ZF clutch equipped “Lexus RC F”

"Lamborghini Gallardo" takes its first victory in the GT300 class

Round 4 of the SUPER GT 2014 was held at Sportsland SUGO, Miyagi Prefecture and in the GT500 class the 11th qualifying “ZENT CERUMO RC F” conquered a race made tumultuous by rain. Following up in 2nd place was the "KeePer TOM'S RC F" making it a 1-2 finish for cars equipped with ZF clutches. In the GT300 class the MANEPA LAMBORGHINI GT3 carried out a composed drive under difficult conditions that saw even top qualifying teams dropping down the order and took its first victory of the season.

Super GT Rd3 - NISSAN GT-Rs dominate race with ZF clutches

CR-Z GT with “JAF-GT” specifications takes first win this season in the GT300 class

The 3rd round of the SUPER GT 2014 was held at AUTOPOLIS, Oita prefecture. The MOTUL AUTECH GT-R started from pole position and won the race followed by the other GT-Rs in 2nd and 3rd place in the GT500 class. In the GT300 class, “JAF-GT” specification race cars, which have had a hard time this season compared to the “FIA-GT” cars, showed their speed. The “ARTA CR-Z GT” grabbed its first victory for 2014 followed by the “SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT” in 2nd place.

The NISSAN GT-R, equipped with its ZF clutch system, grabs victory from pole position - In the GT300 class the BMW Z4 wins its second race in a row

The 2nd round of the SUPER GT 2014 was held on Sunday at Fuji Speed Way where the “Calsonic IMPUL GT-R” took first in the GT500 class and the “GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU Z4” achieved victory in the GT300 class. This win for the NISSAN GT-R, which is equipped with the ZF clutch, also means consecutive SUPER GT wins for ZF following the victory of the Lexus RC F, which also uses ZF technology, in the opening round in Okayama. This was also the second class victory in a row for the BMW Z4.

The 2014 season of the Super GT series opened at Okayama International Circuit. The GT500 class was won by a Lexus RC F and the GT300 class was won by a BMW Z4. At the press conference held before the final, ZF Friedrichshafen AG announced that it will continue to be an official partner of SUPER GT and will be supplying clutch systems to all Lexus and Nissan cars competing in the GT500 class.

DTM Rd10 - Audi dominates podium in DTM 2014 Final Round

The final round of the DTM 2014 was held in Hockenheim where Audi’s Mattias Ekström (SWE) made it two straight wins in a row after taking victory in Zandvoort (NED). With Mike Rockenfeller (GER) and Jamie Green (UK) coming 2nd and 3rd respectively it became a complete Audi dominated podium. As a result, Audi also managed to leap ahead of BMW in the manufacturer’s championship and take the title.

DTM Rd9 - Ekström grabs Audi’s first victory of the season

Round 9 of the DTM was held in Zandvoort, Holland where Audi’s Mattias Ekström (SWE) passed the chequered flag in 1st place. He was followed by Marco Wittmann (GER), who secured the series championship in round 8 at EuroSpeedway Lausitz, and Martin Tomczyk (GER) to put BMW on both sides of the podium.

DTM Rd5 - Maxime Martin wins round five of the season at Moscow

Maxime Martin celebrated his first DTM victory in round five of the DTM season at Moscow Raceway in commanding style.

DTM Rd4 - Robert Wickens wins wet race at the Norisring

Robert Wickens won round four of the DTM season at the Norisring. On finishing the race after 82 laps, the Canadian had a 23.906-second advantage over Audi driver Jamie Green and celebrated his first race victory in the current season. Green’s brand colleague Mattias Ekström finished in third place.

DTM Rd3 - BMW driver Marco Wittmann wins DTM comeback in Hungary

Marco Wittmann is the beaming winner of the DTM comeback in Hungary. The BMW driver, after 41 racing laps on the Hungaroring.

DTM Rd2 - Surprise winner Christian Vietoris

Round two of the DTM season at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben ended in a huge surprise. After 44 turbulent laps and a tire gamble in the rain.

DTM Rd1 - BMW driver Marco Wittmann first 2014 DTM winner

Triumphant victory for BMW youngster Marco Wittmann. The 23-year-old scored his first DTM victory at the season opener at Hockenheim. On finishing after 42 laps, Wittmann had a 12.869-second advantage over the two-time DTM Champion Mattias Ekström (Audi). Ekström’s brand colleague and team-mate Adrien Tambay completed the podium. The reigning Champion Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) barely missed a podium finish in front of 75,000 spectators (throughout the weekend). The other point-finishes went to Audi and BMW drivers as well. Pascal Wehrlein as the best driver of a Mercedes-Benz finished out of the points in eleventh place.

Porsche Carrera Cup Japan

PCCJ Rd9 - Race report

The last round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) was held at Suzuka Circuit (Mie Prefecture) as a support event for the F1 Japanese Grand Prix. Due to rain caused by the approaching typhoon, all 17 vehicles went out with rain tires.

PCCJ Rd8 - Race report

Round 8 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) 2014 was held on August 30th 2014 at Suzuka Circuit, Mie Prefecture. On the starting grid were car numbers (#) 14 Yuya Motojima, #12 Hitoshi Ogawa, #11 Naoya Yamano and #19 Hiroaki Nagai. Starting from 6th place on the grid, in pole for the gentlemen’s class we had #9 Shinji Takei, followed by #7 Bin Hoshino and #25 Hikoichiro Kandori.

PCCJ Rd6&Rd7 - Race report

On July 19th (Sat), round 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) 2014 was held at Sportsland SUGO in Miyagi Prefecture. The starting grid was headed by #78 Tsubasa Kondo in pole position, followed by #11 Naoya Yamano, #14 Yuya Motojima, #12 Ryo Ogawa, and with the top class times in the Gentleman’s (G) class #9 Shinji Takei and #19 Hiroaki Nagai.

PCCJ Rd4&Rd5

On Saturday 7th of June, the 4th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) 2014 was held at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka prefecture.

PCCJ Rd3 - Race report

The 3rd round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) was held at Fuji Speedway on the 4th of May. At 11:55 the 15-lap race started.

An accident occurred to the rear of MOTOJIMA in car no. 14, who made a perfect start from 2nd place on the grid, when HOSHINO in the no. 7 car made contact with the the no. 24 car driven by GO and spun out to collide with the no. 73 SUZUKI. This resulted in the retirement of both HOSHINO and SUZUKI.
