Evaluating SACHS Commercial Vehicle Used PartsReturn Criteria

The return of commercial vehicle used parts in exchange for the refund of a deposit and their industrial remanufacturing have developed into a worldwide trend. The approach is simple: When replacing the used part, the workshop puts it back into the original packaging of the spare part and recycles it via the wholesale channel. In doing so, it supplies the raw material for remanufacturing and drives a sustainable, future-oriented concept.

Requirements for the return of commercial vehicle used parts at a glance

The cores must be included in the returns list and meet a number of technical minimum requirements in order to be approved for the remanufacturing process. Therefore, it must be ensured that the products:

  • are complete and not disassembled
  • do not exhibit any mechanical damage to the housing
  • do not exhibit severe corrosion

Return of used parts via CoremanNet

The return of used parts is managed via www.CoremanNet.com.

Step 1: Back-in-box

Place the used parts into the intact original box of the replacement products and store them in a dry place until they are collected. This ensures the best possible protection of the used parts and quick identification.

Step 2: Collection

The wholesaler collects the used parts from their customers. They subsequently complete a form and submit the request for collection. The commissioned service provider then collects the parts from a central location.

Step 3: Sorting station

Competent employees inspect, identify and evaluate all incoming used parts at so-called sorting stations. The used parts must be included in the returns list and meet a number of technical minimum requirements in order to be approved for the remanufacturing process (complete, not disassembled, not cleaned, no mechanical damage, no severe corrosion damage). It must also be ensured that threads, oil bores and plug connections are protected from transport damage, e.g., by using the protective covers from the new part for the used part.

The parts can be repaired provided that all criteria have been met.

Step 4: Credit note

The sorting report is usually available promptly. This concludes the processing phase of the used part and a credit note is issued upon agreement.

By the way: CoremanNet accepts all used parts, even if they cannot be remanufactured, e.g., because they cannot be identified, are not listed in the replacement parts range or do not meet the technical minimum requirements. A basic value based on the material value is paid for these used parts.
