Social Responsibility and Environment
Over the past decade, the Corporate Social Responsibility policy has helped reduce the impact of the country's social problem. ZF Sachs aims to be a citizen company, promoting, supporting, encouraging and sponsoring activities in the educational, cultural, social, philanthropic and recreational and sports areas, always going beyond the "politically correct" mindset.
With respect to Volunteer Work, ZF Sachs and its employees go beyond merely providing material resources and help to identify problems and seek solutions, raising rinds, hiring services and sometimes even executing the painting and renovation services themselves.
The company also offers programs to incentive education, Professional Training for Teenagers, Development and Training of Entrepreneurs, workplace exercise, programs related to life quality, family-company integration, has a library with more than 4 thousand books and offers soccer classes to local children. ZF Sachs is always looking for new ways to invest in the improvement of life quality, with the goal of building a dignified present and even better future.
Formare ZF Sachs School
The Formare ZF Sachs School was created in partnership and under the coordination of IOCHPE Foundation and is already seeing the results from the incentive and support given to low income teenagers. With the purpose of redeeming citizenship by providing teenagers with professional and educational training, with support from the company's collaborators, Formare ZF Sachs School teaches technical, behavioral and citizenship related themes under the title "Mechanical Production and Assembly Assistant". It is a full-time course that lasts a year. The teenagers receive financial support and other benefits. The kids trained by Formare ZF Sachs leave it prepared to meet the demands of the work market, having a framework of the basic subjects that make up any citizen's education.
Partnership with the Environment
ZF Sachs' ground rule is to coordinate its industrial operations with environmental protection, and its Chemical Management Program covers all of the productive chain, from the purchase of the raw materials to the disposal of residual waste. This work routine, along with strict controls, earned ZF Sachs Brasil the select ISO 140001 certificate. Nearly all of the company's plants throughout the world have received such certificate. Actions such selective waste collection, oil recycling, solvent recovery, water treatment and reuse in the plants, among others, allow for an entirely clean process, without contaminating the environment. ZF Sachs is one of the world's largest clutch manufacturers and is also one of the biggest recyclers of these parts. But it is all done with the same technology as an original part, with the advantage of saving energy and natural resources.
Nature is the industry of life. To respect it is a sign of wisdom and assures the survival of the current and future generations. At least that is how the management, employees and partners of ZF Sachs all around the world think.
