Steering Axle
The front axle of a backhoe loader must be designed for high loading capacities. It must bear extreme peak loads during breakout with the bucket and keep its steering precision even with loaded bucket. The ZF MULTISTEER axles have been particulary developed to suit these requirements.
The hydrostatic steering system ensures reliable, precise and smooth operation even under extreme loading conditions. The steering cylinder is integrated into the axle housing in a protected place and works symmetrically, that means with equal steering angle on both right and left side. Combined with a negative scrub radius, this allows a high maneuverability even with big front wheels.
The structure and driveline parts are designed for high loadings during backhoe application and ensure a high level of reliability.
