Axles
Construction Axles
ZF steering and rigid axles provide ground contact for even the most adventurous designs. You could say that they place firm ground under any vehicle concept.
Using finite element design methods (FEM) we have been able to design considerably slimmer, lighter axle housings without losing stability and strength. Indeed, the reverse is true: critical areas subject to peak stresses have been carefully reinforced to enable axle housings to withstand the greatest loads.
Axle components such as wheel ends, axle inserts and steering cylinders have been optimized in terms of efficiency and reliability. High ratios in the planetary drives have enabled us to implement compact axle inserts, thereby increasing ground clearance. Additional options such as thru-drives, locking systems and integral low-maintenance brake systems combine to offer superior levels of performance under all conceivable conditions.
ZF-Multitrac
|
Towards an integrated future ... The ZF Multitrac has been equipped with many advanced design features. The goal in producing this series has been to achieve even greater reliability and to ensure maximum safety in severe service conditions. Off-road use requires the greatest possible degree of ground-clearance. Having high planetary ratios in the wheel heads has enabled us to house the differentials more compactly and achieve greater ground clearance. ZF limited slip differentials and disengageable mechanical-locking systems increase to a maximum traction and mobility on all terrains. |
ZF-Multisteer
Mobile in every situation ...
The most severe terrain in the world, this is where you can find the power of ZF. The ZF Multisteer axle series has been developed exactly for this market segment, offering an ideal system solution for these harsh demands. An optimized steering geometry results in a smaller steering roll radius while increasing steering movement, consequently leading to a much-improved maneuverability.
