Shock Absorbers

Dependability and economic efficiency
Two of the most important factors for trucks today and decisive for the competitiveness of a commercial vehicle fleet. For over 70 years, Sachs has been one of the world‘s most famous system partners to the automotive industry, providing innovative components and systems to do with drive train and chassis. Sachs offers a complete range of innovative solutions, guaranteeing a maximum of comfort, safety and reliability. Sachs clutches and shock absorbers for commercial vehicles make sure that your vehicle performs. No matter how heavy your load is whatever situations you encounter. Whatever the weather. Mile after mile.

Success with technology and know-how
The basis for safety and reliability is a robust construction, high-quality materials and meticulous manufacturing. The diameter of the cylinder pipe, which is made of seamless compression-proof steel, is adapted to the axle load, suspension and operating conditions.

Decisive: high-quality components
The chrome-plated piston rod is polished several times, this guaranteeing the highest degree of corrosion-proofing, low sealing wear and tear and increased comfort through low friction. The piston rod guide, which is made of sintered iron with a wear-resistant sliding surface or tried and tested gray cast iron, has in many cases a hydraulic rebound stop for precise and simultaneous soft stroke restriction. The seal-made of Perbunan or Viton material, depending on the shock absorber – satisfies the highest demands on failure safety, temperature loads and service life. The valve system provides digressive characteristics for optimum comfort. Valve components with a low setting loss enable a high absorption power consistency and precision of characteristics without re-adjustment. The exterior pipe is corrosion-protected and resistant to pitting, salt, oil and petrol thanks to pre-treatment and environmentally friendly lacquering. Fastening joints made of age resistant, abrasion proof rubber materials form the high load bearing, sound-insulating connection between the wheel mountings and the suspension.
In the Sachs test laboratories, all parts are tested for thousands of hours – in line with the tough demands of the auto industry – to prove their durability and resistance to aggressive salts and chemicals. Sachs shock absorbers can only appear on the market when they have passed these tests.

Durable and available at any time
Because commercial vehicles are put to permanent use, Sachs shock absorbers do not only stand out with their great economic efficiency, high performance and durability, but also with their high level of availability. Fast procurement is assured all over the world.

PDC - Pneumatic Damping Control

The PDC continuously variable, pneumatically controlled system provides load-dependent damping. It provides uniformly high levels of safety and comfort regardless of the load conditions.

In the PDC system, pneumatically controlled proportional damping valves ensure that damping is continuously adjusted to different load conditions.

PDC is based on the pneumatic suspension system and the associated ride-height control. Because it uses the pressure in the vehicle's air spring bellows, it does not need any electronic systems.
