Exchange units
To minimise expensive downtime the ZF European wind turbine network holds a number of exchange or ‘swing’ units for the more popular sizes of wind turbines. The gearboxes are at the latest design issue level having been fully overhauled and tested by ZF. By using this option not only is the loss of valuable production time keep to a minimum, but a substantial saving can be made on both crane and man power costs as the defective and swing unit can be swapped in a single day.
