The alternative to a complete and therefore rather expensive replacement of the entire control arm: the exchange of the worn rubber-to-metal component. ZF Services developed this demand-actuated product and now offers rear-axle rubber-metal mounts as separate parts under the Lemförder brand. ZF Friedrichshafen has received another award for its 8-speed automatic transmission (8HP). In an award ceremony at the Beijing Auto Museum, China Automotive News – one of the top automotive journals in China – declared the 8HP "Transmission of the Year 2011". Crucial for the decision were the fuel savings of the multi-ratio transmission without having to accept any trade-offs in performance.
