Impressions from the ZF Service Center of Competence for Wind Energy Service
The state-of-the-art ZF Services Center of Competence for Wind Energy Service is centrally located in Dortmund, Germany.
It is possible to overhaul about 200 gearboxes in this international center of coordination annually. Besides a 32-tons crane, a 4 MW load test rig can be found in the 1,700 square meter workshop area. Gearboxes are run on these rigs under simulated load to measure structure-borne noise and the wear pattern under load is analyzed. ZF Services is the only non-franchised multi-brand company having such a test rig.
The important test rig technology comes from the ZF Group as well: ZF Test Systems, the independent system supplier for test systems, with emphasis on automotive, is now offering test rigs for wind power gearboxes as turnkey, whole facilities with CE marking.
