That’s pretty strong stuff: ZF TC Tronic
Unleashing additional forces
Difficult terrain, tough working conditions, heavy equipment – times when “normal driving forces” aren’t enough to gain speed. The solution: the power pack ZF TC.
Performance
In the ZF TC Tronic, it’s the same ZF AS Tronic technology plus a wear-free torque converter clutch (WSK). It has a torque converter that enhances the driving force via hydrodynamic torque intensification when starting and adjusting and thereby goes easy on the traditional drivetrain. When the crane is in motion, the torque converter is automatically by-passed and the motor power from the 12-gear overdrive transmission is transmitted, saving fuel, in the style of the ZF AS Tronic. The crane driver chooses between automatic operation or manual gear selection and doesn’t need to change gears or de-clutch either way. If it’s difficult to get going, it’s also difficult to brake. For safety purposes, there is a primary retarder integrated into the WSK of the transmission system. Via CAN it can be included in the brake management. ZF TC Tronic converts driving force into manpower using its two auxiliary drive positions. The clutch-dependent or drive-dependent auxiliary drives, capable of being combined, can be shifted independently of one another.
