Comfort can be defined in different ways. Key features include vibration damping, along with easy clutch operation and steering. These are all areas in which ZF products play a key role.
Easy maneuvering: steering column control
- One feature that makes the driver's job much easier - especially when maneuvering - is the steering column control that replaces the conventional shift lever on semi-automatic transmissions. This makes gear selection easier and eliminates the need for additional driver training.
- Also relieving the driver's workload is the easy-to-use electronically controlled ConAct clutch actuation system.
- Servotwin steering makes maneuvering easier and automatically compensates for cross winds. The easy-entry steering column with memory function tilts up to 50° for more freedom of movement.
Vibration damping in the cab
On heavy commercial vehicles, construction-site vehicles and tractors, the CALM (Cabin Air Leveling Module) system applies multi-stage damping to minimize vibration and shocks. It also includes an integrated level control. These features reduce wear and tear on the driver and vehicle.
