Heavy duty gearboxes with cast iron casings and deep ratios are fitted in all types of vessels from tugs to tankers – fishing boats to container ships. Many models are non-reversing with hollow-bored output shafts to accommodate controllable pitch propellers – which ZF Marine offers as complete packages. Systems are available for high-speed and medium-speed Diesel powers up to 14,000 kW, depending on classification society requirements. The large gearbox series is based on a modular design, and includes, reversing, non-reversing and simple reduction transmissions (no clutch). For all transmissions in the Commercial Craft market segment is a wide variety of options available, such as PTO and PTI, auxiliary pumps, etc.
