Offering a high level of flexibility

A particularly economical and environmentally friendly serial hybrid drive is possible on the basis of an electric independent wheel drive for city buses. This drive concept is particularly flexible, since the integrated, liquid-cooled asynchronous motors can be powered by several energy sources, separately or combined: diesel-electric power, batteries, overhead lines, and fuel cells. It is also possible to power articulated buses via several axles. The AVE 130 features the same installation length as the AV 132 and AVN 132 low-floor axles. The total ratio of the compact wheel hub drive is achieved with a patented power-split ring gear portal combined with a standard planetary drive.
