01/03/2012 ZF Services Training Programs Impart Expert Knowledge
- Training program successfully extended
- Hybrid technology also in focus of training programs
- Modern technology requires competent training
In 2011, ZF Services extended its internationally renowned and diversified training offer in driveline and chassis technology as well as transmission, axle, and steering systems. In 2012, trainings on electric drives are added as well. Apart from own programs, the cooperation with Bosch in the area of workshop training could also be developed successfully over the last two years.
For many years now, ZF Services has been continuously qualifying own employees as well as those of its partners. In 2011, about 12,000 participants worldwide profited from the ZF Services' expert knowledge. Car repair shops wanting to render professional diagnosis, services, and repair for modern vehicles do not only need high-quality spare parts but have to keep pace with the continuous, technological developments as well. In order to impart theoretical and practical knowledge on how to handle high-tech products like XTend clutch, CDC electronic damping, and hybrid transmissions, ZF Services offered in 2011 technical training programs by experienced trainers for workshops, service partners, wholesalers, plant representatives, associations, and schools. In driveline and chassis technology alone, ZF Services organized more than 350 training sessions with 9,500 participants in 41 countries.
The restructuring of the ZF Services business unit within the ZF Group lead to the continuous extension of training portfolio and locations. In 2011, more than 2,200 business and service partners got trained at the ZF locations Friedrichshafen, Passau, Saarbrücken, and Schwäbisch Gmünd on topics like transmission and chassis systems as well as steering systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-road machinery. During the training sessions, the participants got to know details about technical developments of products like Ecolife and AS Tronic. New in 2011 were trainings on the Ergopower hybrid transmission.
Hybrid technology - from the electric motor to the complete hybrid system - is a future market for ZF, and ZF Services pays tribute to this development with its training portfolio. As of 2012, authorized partners, authorized repair shops of automotive manufacturers, and fleet owners will be qualified for working at passenger cars, buses, or commercial vehicles with high voltage systems according to the information bulletin BGI/GUV-1 8686 of the German Statutory Accident Insurance (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung).
Alois Ludwig, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ZF Services, attributes the long-term success of ZF Services training programs mainly to their renowned quality. "Only those having current technical knowledge will be able to stay competitive in the long run. This is equally true for our company, our employees and our customers. We need professional partners who are familiar with the newest technical product developments and are therefore able to offer the ideal service to the end customer." For this reason, the service concepts and training offers are continuously extended and developed further.
