12/01/2012 Lemförder Rubber-Metal Mounts Now Available Separately

  • Rear-axle rubber-metal mounts for vehicles with the EUCD platform and Ford Mondeo III Turnier can be obtained separately
  • ZF Services now offers a low-cost alternative to complete replacement

The alternative to a complete and therefore rather expensive replacement of the entire control arm: the exchange of the worn rubber-to-metal component. ZF Services developed this demand-actuated product and now offers rear-axle rubber-metal mounts as separate parts under the Lemförder brand. These original Lemförder parts can be obtained for all vehicles with the EUCD platform, for example the Ford Mondeo and the Volvo V70. The product range is consistently being extended.

Previously, when a rubber-metal mount in a rear axle control arm or trailing link was worn in a vehicle based on the EUCD platform, the entire arm or link had to be replaced. These mounts can now be ordered separately for Ford or Volvo vehicles. With Ford, the link mounts can be obtained for S-Max and Galaxy (as of model year 2006), Mondeo (as of model year 2007), with Volvo for the XC 70 and V70 (as of model year 2007), XC 60 (as of model year 2008) as well as S60 and V60 (as of model year 2010). Apart from the EUCD platform, the mounts are also available for the Ford Mondeo Turnier (model years 2000 to 2007).

ZF is technological leader in nearly all core product groups of driveline and chassis technology and therefore also has first OE positions in the fields of chassis and steering systems. Under its brand Lemförder, ZF Services supplies the steering and chassis parts of the leading automotive supplier in the free spare parts market. Steering and suspension components are decisive for safety and dynamics. In the chassis, rubber-to-metal components provide the elastic connection between individual suspension components; this means that they influence steering behavior and driving stability in the case of bumpy roads, braking and avoidance maneuvers. In the driveline, they make sure that the transmission and engine are linked to the chassis in low-vibration and noise-absorbing manner. They increase the units' safety and stability.

The online catalog "WebCat" offers an overview of the entire ZF Services product range under www.zf.com/services/catalog . In addition to the Lemförder brand which covers the fields of chassis, steering, and rubber-to-metal components, ZF Services sells shock absorbers, suspension strut mounts, service kits, suspension springs, and clutches under the brand Sachs. The Boge brand stands for shock absorbers; steering gears and pumps are sold under ZF Parts.
