2008/08/12 Road Show Through Russia
- Together with Kamaz, ZF presents itself to Russian forwarders and bus companies.
- ZF products become tangible.
- Start on August 11, 2008.
ZF and its co-operation partner Kamaz are heading off for a road show through Russia. Between August 11 and September 09, 2008, the motto 'Be close to the market' will be pursued by ZF employees from Friedrichshafen, the representative office of ZF Russia in Moscow, as well as ZF Kama and Kamaz: The joint road show will take a whole month, touring ten Russian cities across 3,500 kilometers. On this occasion, the benefits of ZF products will be pre-sented above all to forwarders and bus companies, but also jour-nalists from Russia.
"The joint road show by ZF and Kamaz provides an excellent opportunity to draw the Russian market's attention to the partnership of both companies, which has been effective since 2005, and to present our product portfolio", states Wolfgang Vogel, member of the ZF Board of Management and Group Executive of the Commercial Vehicle and Special Driveline Technology Division. Together with Kamaz, this ZF division has a joint venture, ZF-Kama, which produces commercial vehicle transmissions for the Russian market in Naberezhnye Chelny. After the positive experience gained with a first joint road show in 2006, the info campaign will roll again, starting on August 11, 2008, passing a total of ten cities from Saint Petersburg to the South up to Krasnodar.
In their trunks, the ZF employees have driveline and chassis technology for commercial vehicles, which is particularly interesting for the Russian market: The Ecomat automatic transmission which is well-suited for the cost-efficient operation of city and suburban buses, the 16-speed Ecosplit with Intarder as well as the manual transmissions Ecomid and Ecolite.
Together with the trailing arm, the new 4-point link takes over both the axle location in longitudinal and transversal direction and the vertical axle load support. The Servocom steering system by ZF Lenksysteme as well as clutches and dampers by ZF Sachs (the Powertrain and Suspension Components division of ZF) ensure driving safety and comfort.
The forwarders and journalists will learn everything about ZF technology in presentations and press conferences. To this end, the Kamaz dealers have organized an "open house" at ten stopovers.
Driveline and Chassis Technology can also be found in the Kamaz vehicles which are touring the road show: The long-distance semitrailer truck Kamaz-5460 has a 16-speed Ecosplit on board and the platform dumper truck Kamaz-4308 features the Ecolite transmission; and the Nefaz 5299-20-23 city bus is equipped with the ZF-Ecomat transmission and Servocom steering system by ZF Lenksysteme.
Kamaz is one of the ten largest commercial vehicle manufacturers worldwide and produced 52,000 trucks and 1,300 buses in 2007 for the Asian and Eastern European market. The race team of Kamaz has won the Rallye Dakar of its class the last six years in a row. Kamaz race vehicles are equipped with transmissions, clutches, and steering systems from ZF.
