2011/12/19 ZF 8-Speed Automatic Transmission Receives Award in China

ZF Friedrichshafen has received another award for its 8-speed automatic transmission (8HP). In an award ceremony at the Beijing Auto Museum, China Automotive News – one of the top automotive journals in China – declared the 8HP "Transmission of the Year 2011". Crucial for the decision were the fuel savings of the multi-ratio transmission without having to accept any trade-offs in performance. The entire order goes to the largest Russian automotive group, the GAZ Group. In December 2010, the 100,000th current-generation commercial vehicle transmission Ecomid was built in the ZF plant in Bouthéon. With a torque range of 1,000 to 1,300 Nm, the 9-speed manual transmission is adapted to the needs of medium-duty trucks.
